                                     Twitter Recent changes

Twitter is a free social networking site where users broadcast short posts known as tweets. These tweets can contain text, videos, photos or links. To access Twitter, users need an internet connection or smart phone to use the app or website, Twitter.com.

Elon Musk recently rebranded Twitter to X

Elon Musk changed Twitter's blue bird logo to the letter X as part of a major rebranding.  Musk initially changed the X logo to a variation with thicker lines. He then reversed the change.

The original text-based social network has a brand-new name. On July 22nd, Twitter officially rebranded as X. The change, first announced by owner Elon Musk in a series of posts, has been long in the making.

PayPal, one of Musk’s earliest startups, began life as X.com back in 1999. In April of this year, Musk officially changed Twitter’s legal name to X Corp. After the most recent changes, the X.com domain now redirects to Twitter.

The new name looks like the next step in Musk’s plan to build an “everything app” like WeChat or Line.

Monthly charge for verification

The company planned to charge users $19.99 per month for verification. A verified user has 90 days to sign up for the current plan and keep the blue check mark. Musk wanted subscriptions to increase to cover up half of the business' total revenue.

New Content Moderation council

Elon Musk has also said that “Twitter will have its own content moderation council to make important moderation decisions on the platform. No major content decisions or account reinstatements will happen before the council convenes,”

The edit button could quickly become standard

Musk has expressed interest in allowing users to edit their tweets, something many users had been requesting for years. Roughly 74% of his Twitter followers said they supported adding the edit feature, according to a poll he ran in March.

Elon Musk put new limits on tweets.

TikTok and Instagram users can scroll with abandon. But Twitter owner Elon Musk has put new limits on his digital town square, the latest drastic change to the social media platform that could further drive away advertisers and undermine its cultural influence as a trendsetter.

In X ,saying accounts that don’t pay for a monthly subscription will temporarily be restricted to reading 600 posts per day, while verified accounts will be able to scroll through up to 6,000.
